This sterling silver engraved elephant is my take on a Ganesh-inspired design and a match to the head badge I posted earlier for @bike.as.art. It'll go on the seat tube of his custom @natezukas frame. ⁠

It's been a while since I worked on anything

This is a bicycle head badge that I designed and fabricated for my friend @bike.as.art. It's made out of sterling silver and is measures 2.6" x 1.5" - pretty lorge for a piece of engraving! It's going on a @natezukas custom frame. I know

Another detail from binding, this time featuring hands! Like rope and pattern, hands find their way into my drawings on a regular basis. Hands can be so expressive, it's interesting to me that a simple gesture or pose of the hand can be suggestive

It's been really exciting to keep pushing the scale of my drawing to be larger and larger. This one is 14"x 17", which makes last year's 'big' 8.5" x 11" illustrations look positively tiny! ⁠

The brief for this commission was to make a brooch inspired by butterflies that featured one of my faceted xcubes. After a bunch of sketching I ended up settling on a two-piece brooch design and this somewhat abstracted, heavily patterned butterfly.

Her is another view of the butterfly brooch. I ended up doing the forming on the butterfly after the engraving was done *and* the enamel was applied. It was a bit scary to do some bending such a late stage in the fabrication process, but thankfully
